Machine Quilt
Two day class – Wednesday and Thursday
This class is for students who are
“very comfortable using the darning foot to do free-motion quilting.”
This class reviews all the basic elements to successful machine quilting
– decorative threads, rayons, metallics, tension, basting, battings, bindings,
etc. Students will “play” with a
large variety of designs that do not have to be marked, including flowers,
leaves, vines, feathers, children, holidays, and border designs.
(This class will be held at the 4H building). Supply
List
Required text for the class is Show Me
How to Machine Quilt, by Kathy Sandbach, C & T Publishing. We will NOT be doing a specific project
in class, but rather practicing new and fun designs for machine quilting.
All Designs in the class DO NOT have to be marked-they are just relaxed,
free –form designs. Trying NEW
things. Please feel free to bring
ONE quilt top that you have to discuss possible designs.
It’s amazing how much we learn in a group setting with everyone’s
ideas on the table. |
