HELENE KNOTT has been quilting since 1973 when quilting experienced a renaissance in popularity and making a gradual transition from utilitarian craft to an art form. Helene found herself intrigued by the medium; its challenges and possibilities. For the last 30 years or so, fiber and quilting has been her primary medium. Helene loves exhibiting her work and has expanded interests in teaching, along with designing commercial quilt patterns. Over the years, she has won many awards at local, regional and national quilt shows. Helene has expanded into designing commercial quilting patterns and currently has a line of patterns that are published by Story Quilts and continues working for them part time as an in-house designer. Helene currently designs patterns, teaches quilting/fiber classes and takes commissions for art quilts as well as participates in quilt and fiber art shows.
