PHIL BEAVER is a retired public school teacher.  He also owned and operated the exclusive Beaver House Dinner Theater where nearly thirty live performers amused sell-out crowds.  His teaching career in fine arts covered areas of silversmithing and other metalsmithing, drawing, and fiber design.  He is the father of one and grandfather of one.  Sylbie is three years old and Phil's best buddy.  Phil Beaver found quilts and quilt shows by chance in 2000.  Some first quilting attempts followed soon after that, but he became serious and more productive as a quilter and quilt teacher in 2003.  As of January 2006, he has produced ten large quilts and won 59 major awards, including nine Best of Show awards, in the most major quilt shows in the world.  He appears regularly on HGTV's Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson, and is often seen on cable's DIY channel, also.  His work and quilting accomplishments have been featured in over 50 related magazine publications.  Free Spirit in New York City produced a J. Phil Beaver fabric collection, "Indiana Heritage" fabrics.

Sunflowers and Poinsettias

Two and ˝ day class - All levels - $165.00

Monday, Tuesday (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) and Wednesday (9:00 a.m. - Noon)

OR

Wednesday (Noon - 4:00 p.m.), Thursday and Friday (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

The first day of each workshop is always spent painting fabrics.  The paint is permanent and a bit messy – wear old clothes on day one.  Also, on the first day bring a water spritz bottle, pen/pencil, note paper, and scissors for fabric and paper.  A desk stapler is useful but optional.  On day one, do not bring machines – they won’t be used while painting and we often don’t have room to store them until this part of workshop is complete.  (This class will be held at the 4H building).
